Safe Cat Food?
Even if your cats food has not been recalled that does not necessarily mean that it is safe cat food. The majority of the cat food on the market today might not only be nutritionally void but it may even be dangerous to your cat.
Most of the cat foods that we feed our cats have no nutritional value at all. What is worse is that you might unknowingly be poisoning your cat. Poisoned cats and dogs from the pound is one of the many cat food ingredients you might find in your felines food.
The first thing to think about is that your cat is not supposed to eat other cats. The second problem is that the poison that is used to put down the animals could still be in active form in your cats food. The poison does not cook out of the pound animals even in high temperatures.

As if using poisoned animals was not enough, any thing connected to the animals is also used. This can range from hair and teeth to metal id tags to flea collars. Road kill is another meat source that is used in cat food.
When processing meat for human consumption a big barrel is placed nearby. Anything that they cannot sell to humans goes into this barrel and it then goes on to be used in cat food. This could include cancerous tissue or even a puss filled cyst.
That does not leave us with a very good nutritious cat food. At least now you don’t have to wonder why the life expectancy of your cat is less then half of his natural life span.
The more research I did on cat food the more shocked I became. I did not even want to touch my cats food let alone feed it to him.
There are some safe, nutritious foods out there for cats. To give your cat optimal health and a long life expectancy it is recommended to feed your cat a combination of safe cat food and healthy homemade food.
